Junior Library Guild and Skater's Secret

It was so fun to receive a copy of the July 2009 jlg monthly (Junior Library Guild monthly) in the mail today. Skater's Secret, a Jake Maddox book, was chosen as the July Sports Elementary choice! I've scanned in the page that spotlights the book (a great story btw). So very fun. Thanks jlg!

(oh and here's fun article on how the Jake Maddox, Stone Arch sports series is doing in schools. Apparently the kids love them and are demanding librarians to get more! Storm Surfer seems to be the one of the most popular. Yeah!)

I was in the mood to do some good ole fashioned portrait drawing (something i haven't done in a while) so I had my husband sit for a quick session. He was more than obliged. Was a fun little exercise.
